rereplacing shower towel bar bracket

A quick learner from NY says:
I have an old sliding shower door with the double towel bar brackets which I can't parts for.

one bracket is missing and one bar...as i can not find the double handle brackets anywhere i thought I'd go with your
2 1/4" single brackets....but how do I get the OLD double bracket off ??

Is there a special tool and if so do you sell it?
or am I just not putting enuf elbow grease into trying to get the bolts out??

any info appreciated

Thanks for posting! The method of removing this kind of towel bar insert really depends on what you have. Do you see a screw holding in the bracket? If so, spray the screw with some WD 40 to loosen it up so you can unscrew it. If there is no screw, however, please send a few photos of the bracket for us to look at and consider.
