shoe for sash window

A home owner from Philadelphia PA says:
Hoping this pic is sufficient- the problem window won't stay open- the top sash just falls when the window is unlocked. This is a pic of the shoe from another window. I think the one for this window is completely broken, but I'm going to need to need someone to help me to take it apart- I thought I might get the part before I got a friend over to help.
pivot shoe
A home owner from Philadelphia PA says:
Hi,
Or perhaps the shoe is just the metal bit that the pin from the window fits into? It's the whole piece that slides in the groove and prevents the window from dropping that needs replacement.

Looks like you have an older style pivot shoe that is no longer made. I think our 15-191 and 1/2" wide Series 160 spring can replace your hardware, but I'm not sure. You will need to remove both the pivot shoe and the coil spring to compare dimensions to ensure they match.
