Removing weatherstripping with sealed corners

A home owner from northern New York says:
Your website does a remarkable job of teaching us how to fix our windows. My best guess is that I need weatherstripping 58-127. I saw your video about how to take a sample to definitively identify which weatherstripping product we need for the sides. I can't figure out how to get the sample out of the outside face; all 4 corners seem to be sealed. Please advise. Thank you.

Thanks for contacting us! I'm glad the information on our site has helped you. If the corners of your sash are sealed, you will need to carefully cut one of them with a utility knife in order to open the channel up. That will let you slide the wool pile out of the channel.
