window channel series 351 - 2790 ?

A quick learner from Texas says:
Greetings, looking for replacement channel for large 47" x 71" alenco window. Believe the series is 351, 28" length - however existing channel has "2790 hc 35 B.S.I." stamped onside. Can you confirm replacement? Have other pics as well. Thxs Ralph

Take a look at our S351-28 channel balance. I think this might be a match, assuming your shoe is 1" deep.

Thanks for the quick response - couple of follow up questions:

- the S351-28 series doesn't have an listing for a 2790 model. Would the 2770 support the extra weight of the window?

- what is the 'shoe' option you referred?
- last question, the width is 5/8" of my existing channel.

Thanks, Ralph

Stamps ending in "90" use an old rating system that has fallen out of use. One of our standard options will likely still work, but you will need to weigh your sash and refer to the chart we show to confirm.

The shoe is the piece shown in your first picture. As long as your depth is the same as the measurement we show on the S351-28 store page, you should be okay.

Can you confirm the width of the metal channel? I don't think they make this type in 5/8". If it's closer to 9/16", then you should be okay.
A quick learner says:
It's definitely 5/8" in width, I've attached an additional pic. Also the shoe seems slightly different as well..

Tom from SWISCO responded:
It looks like you're measuring it from the bottom, where the metal channel flares out. That flare will of course be a little wider than the actual width, but if you measure it from the top I think you'll find it's closer to 9/16". Our balances do not come with a flared channel, but it doesn't affect the function of the window so you should be okay.

The shoe is a little different, but as long as the general shape and measurements are the same then you should be okay. The shoe that comes pre-attached to the S351-28 is our 15-002. You can use those measurements as a reference.
