window hand crank is stripped

A home owner from San Diego says:
I am looking for a hand crank for a window that is about 6 years old.
The hexagonal fitting on the handle is stripped. There is no set screw in the mechanism to tighten to keep it in, or from turning. Pictures show the handle configuration and the stripped fitting.

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
You have an older Roto operator with a "male" hex handle. This is no longer available, but you could try to wrap a little bit of masking tape on the hex spline and see if it will stay in the operator. Worst case scenario would be to use an adhesive to glue it into the operator.

When the operator goes bad, you would have to replace it with something like our 39-342. You will also need the newer style handles, so see our 39-114L or the folding 39-205.
