window will not go up

A landlord from bed room says:
Hi replace my spiral balance and the window will not go up at all after I install 29" s900 red-tip spiral balance the window has two on each side . The window was opening before I replace with new ones.

There are lots of possibilities for why your windows aren't working. I just need you to clarify some details.

When you say the windows won't go up, what do you mean, exactly? Do you mean that they drift close after you open them, or that they are completely immobile?

Are the new balances identical to the old balances? Specifically, are the tubes the same size (diameter and length)? Was the tip color the same? Did the ends of the spirals match?

Did you charge the spirals when you installed them? New balances need to be wound up a few times in order to work properly.

Finally, remove the sash and see if something else is broken or bent that might be preventing the sash from operating.
