40-028 In-swing Door Latch Installation

This installation guide explains how to install the SWISCO in-swinging storm door handle latch set 40-028.

Step 1

Print out the drill template (image on the right). Fold the template on the scored line.

Step 2

With the door in the closed position, place the fold of the template in the outside of the door against the wood stop or metal Z bar, which ever projects farther, and spot for holes.

Step 3

Drill (3) 1/4" holes straight through the door.

Step 4

Apply the latch to the door. If the spindle binds, due to misalignment, enlarge the center hole.

Step 5

Attach the strike to the wood jamb with 1-1/4"

Step 1

Drill 3/4" hole straight through the door and remove the knock-out in the outside plate.

Step 2

Pull keys from the cylinder and insert from the inside of the door. Position the end boss to engage the recess int eh lock bold (in the inside plate).

Step 3

Place the inside plate over the flats on the cylinder. Set the outside plate of the cylinder projection, and tighten the screws firmly on the inside plate.
