40-032 Installation

This installation guide explains how to install the SWISCO out-swinging storm door push button latch set 40-032.

Step 1

Fold template on scored line.

Step 2

With door in closed position. Place back side of the template on the inside of the door at a height to miss the main door knob. Wit the fold line of the template against the wood jamb or metal "Z" bar, whichever projects farther and spot for holes.

Step 3

Drill (3) 5/16" holes STRAIGHT through the door for easy installation (will work with 1/4" holes also).

Step 4

Assemble outside components as per sketch.

Step 5

Insert outside case assembly in door without depressing push button. Spindle must project through the door 3/16" mininum to 5/16" maximum. If too long, saw or break off within range of the specified measurements.

Step 6

Depress push button and guide spindle into rectangular slot in locking bold and secure inside the case with (4) machine screws (7/8" 2 each for a door thickness less than 1" or 1-1/4" 2 each for a door thickness more than 1"). Spot lower hole for handle after the latch is installed and drill through the outside of the door only.

Step 7

Attach the door strike.
