GlazingThe act of installing glass or other glazing materials, such as plastic, into a window or door.
Glazing BeadA part used to trim around the edge of the glass after it has been installed in a window. Glazing bead can be made from vinyl, aluminum extrusion, or aluminum formed sheet. The glazing bead either is screwed in place or snapped into grooves in the sash member.
Glazing CompoundA pliable material placed between the glazing leg of a window or door and the glass around its edges to seal the unit against air and water infiltration and to help hold the glass in place.
Glazing LegA flat surface in frame members parallel with the glass, to which the glass is affixed using a glazing compound and glazing bead.
Glazing StopThe part of the sash or door panel holding the glass in place.
Glazing TapeA tape with adhesive on both sides used to glaze glass to the glazing leg of a sash member.
GridsA removable muntin pattern applied to a single light of glass. Whereas a true divided light actually separates the pieces of glass, a grid only appears to divide the glass into smaller lights. A grid is applied to the exterior side of glass.
GrilleA term referring to window pane dividers or muntins, usually a type of assembly to be detached for cleaning.
GussetA concealed, strong, right-angled shape used to reinforce mitered corners in tubular aluminum extrusions.
