This popular metal take-out clip is commonly seen in windows with non-tilt block and tackle channel balances. This product clips into the master frame and is used to hold the side-load channel balances in place while removing the window sash for cleaning and inspection, or replacement of the balances.

How do I actually install take-out clips?

I feel like an idiot writing to ask about this, but I cannot figure out how to install these take-out clips to replace some that I broke during some recent channel balance replacements. No matter how I try to put them in, I can't seem to get both the top and bottom to go in place. Can you ... (cont.)

Custom balance

L 27in, W 5/8in stamped number is 2630 Hook is on the shoe.

Mismatched balances. Some are 2530 some are 2540. With the weight of these windows, I believe 2540 would work better.

My sister lives in San Francisco. I live in Washington state. I'll be traveling there to help with some miscellaneous house projects.
