33F S795-33 channel balance

Home Owner from Ellabell, GA
This is exactly the window channel balance that I need. However, my old balance has 33F stamped on it. We took the window out and it weighs 28lbs. This weight is without the old channel balances since they both fell out due to rivet, top insert & bottom shoe failures. Please advise which weight designation is needed to make my windows work again. Thank you for your time.

I believe you have a special type of balance that will need to be specially made. It would be our S795-33 channel balance, but with the top clip replaced with a 15-198 hook. Does that look good to you? The only thing I'm not sure about is the stamp. Your old stamp reads 33F, for sashes weighing 34 through 37 pounds. But you said your sash is 28 pounds, which means the 33D would probably be better.

If you want to go ahead with this special balance, please let me know how many you need and I will email you an order link and price quote for that quantity.

Excellent call on the different hook, I didn't notice the difference. I need a price quote for 4 balances. I'm not sure who the window manufacturer is. My concern with the 33D balance is that the rivets on all four balances either sheared through or are bent to to point of immenint failure. Thank you for your help.

Well, depending on the age of the balance that could just be the natural result of time and use. Balances like this typically have a life span of 5-10 years. If your sash is only 28 pounds, I don't want to go with a stronger spring as you may then have trouble closing your window. If it's too strong, the window will even drift up after you close it.

With that information in mind, I'll send you an order link for 4 of these balances right now. If you want to go with a different stamp, let me know and I'd be happy to make that change.
