80-021 Fixed panel keepers

Question

I need at least a finger hold for my heavy wood- framed glass doors. How thick are the fixed panel keepers? Will they slide past the other door that is 1" away? Do you have anything narrower?

The total thickness of the 80-021 is approximately 9/16". Would that be small enough?
