Aluminum single hung sash removal

A handy person from Colorado says:
I am familiar with the sash removal process on vinyl single hung windows, but have run into a problem with an aluminum window. It appears that the sash removal process should work the same way, but the sash is too wide to be removed simply by sliding it to one side after the balances are held by the take-out clips. Is there another step or piece I am missing in this process? Thanks for any input you may have.

Hey, Bret. Considering the fact that your sash is very wide, there might be some extra locking device on the sash or frame to prevent the sash accidentally falling out in addition to the standard take out clips used in most side load windows. That said, I can't be sure. Please send some photos of your setup and we can try our best to figure out a solution!
