Aluminum window channel balance 1/2 " width x 34" long metal channel

A quick learner from Ocala, FL says:

Stamp on existing channel is: 33 9 ON BSI

Window is double hung non-tilt aluminum frame double pane insulated window.

Total measurement is 34" wide x 70" tall. Bottom window sash weighs 28 lbs.

I think the 34"Series 385 Chanel Balance Option 3350 could be the correct one for me to order. Please look at my enclosed pictures to confirm the proper item number. If you have any questions or need more pictures or measurements, please contact me.

Thanks, Tim

Hi, Tim.

It appears you have either our S380-34 or S385-34 channel balance. These two parts look almost identical at first glance but each one has a different sized bottom shoe. The Series 380 comes attached with a 1" deep shoe and the Series 385 comes attached with a 1-3/32" deep shoe. Measure as shown below to determine the best match.

Your 33 9 is outdated and doesn't match any of our options but since your sash weighs 28 pounds, you could go with 3340 or 3350 strength option. Two balances with the 3340 option will support a sash weighing 23 to 28 pounds, and the 3350 option will support a sash weighing 28 to 32 pounds. Either option will be fine since your sash weight falls within these two options. The decision is ultimately yours.
