Andersen awning window closer 7191.2

A home owner from Rochester says:

The clips included with the suggested replacement that attach to the window itself are completely different. They do not have a flat base and cannot attach to the window in the same way as the original. The original window attachment is on the top of the attached photo, the replacement, (the shiny one), is on the bottom of the picture.

How are these supposed to work?

I'm afraid your original operator is no longer available. Andersen suggests using the 39-206 as a substitute. Looking at the newer style sash bracket, could it be that you will need to attach the screws on the bottom of the sash? Then the clip-on portion of the bracket can attach to the arm of the operator.
