Can 17-012 be used with 3/8" diameter balances?

A quick learner from Montreal, Quebec says:
We are looking for a bracket for a 3/"8 spiral balance that would allow us to attach a balance to the top of a meeting rail as per sketches.

We have noticed your 17-012 bkt but it is defined as usable with 5/8" balances.

Could it be used with 3/8" balances?

The hole closest to the hook comes in handy to, we feel, prevent the bracket from bending under 13# of pull by the balance although it would be screwed on the top of the meeting rail.

Now, since the "t-bar" on the balance is located away from the rod's end, how far would the rod extend from the underside of the bracket as we have 0 tolerance there.

We have attached sketch of our intended installation, tested installation on site and "t-bar" arrangement by Caldwell.

Do you feel we can get away with this , as said, since we have no room beyond the bracket.

If in doubt could we be granted with 2 sample brackets that we can test.

If favorable, we would require 600 brackets. Do you have in stock?

Best regards,

Thanks for posting, Jacques. Based on your description, it sounds like you may have our Series 400 spiral balance. In that case, please take a look at our 17-030 and 17-031 brackets, which are similar to the 17-012 but made for use with the Series 400.
