Cannot find this size mortise lock

A quick learner from Jamaica Queens, NY says:
Hello my parents installed storm security door in early 1980's. Lock mechanism broke, could not find replacement so had it fixed and lock mechanism broke again leaving us locked in house. Have purchased three similar. Either too big or small. Below are photos with tape measure to show dimensions. If can't find lock I'll have to replace door which I really don't want to do

Thanks for reaching out to us. I see that you posted a similar inquiry back in August, which you can see here. At that time I had recommended the 40-193, which remains my top suggestion. Is there any specific reason why that won't work for you? If it's a matter of size, can you tell me exactly how yours differs? We would need precise, written dimensions in order to see if we can find a better match.

Hello I actually purchased the Marks 2750 which was suggested also. It is a fraction smaller than my original so it does not line up with holes in storm door. The black is the Marks and the gray is the broken lock. This is the fourth lock that does not fit. Can you tell me based on photos if the Pella you suggested will work for me. Also if it does not fit what is your return policy. I don't want to get stuck with lock I can't use.

I am not familiar with the Marks 2750, unfortunately. I don't believe that's a product that we sell.

I also can't quite make out your precise dimensions based on just a photo of a tape measure, but I provided detailed and exact measurements in the diagrams above. Your next step should be to review each measurement we show to verify that they line up with your original.

You can see our return policy here.

Hello I really just need the locking mechanism. You suggested 40-193 as a replacement for my door. Is latch 40-194 the same without handles etc?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Yes, the 40-194 is the same exact mortise lock that comes with the 40-193 set. Just make sure that all the dimensions match before you buy anything.
