Carradco window crank

Home Owner from Long Valley NJ
Homeowner here. I have a Carradco vertical window in which the crank doesn't work. The brass post slides in out out a bit but neither comes out all the way or engages all the way, spins somewhat loosely. I haven't figured out out totake the cover off to see if I can re-engage the post into the mechanism. I thought I would try that 1st before attempting to take window apart?? Is there a tool needed??...it looks like some kind of press fit around the post with slots on either side.

It sounds like your worm gear has stripped out. That brass post you mentioned is not supposed to come out, and it unfortunately cannot be repaired since these are machine-pressed at the factory. Your only option is an all new operator.

We can help, but we will need to see the whole mechanism. Let me know if that will be possible. Once I see that, I will do my best to find a good match in our inventory. I'm very confident we have something for you, I just need to see it.
