Certainteed Coil Balance inquiry

Quick Learner
I have 22 year old Certainteed windows, I have 1 that's 31x57 ish. and the balance coil broke. The old one that's still good looks like a figure 8 (almost broken also) and the other one is the broken one. The plastic piece it hangs on is 1.25 x 1.5 inches. The window seems heavy 9 ish pounds.

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we would like to see photos of the pivot shoe that your coils springs attach to, which will help us narrow down your options. See the related videos to assist you in the meantime. Thank you!

This is the shoe, the coil hangs on it.

Thanks for getting back to us but these are the cover and barrel for the coils. The pivot shoe is the part that installs below the coils inside the window jamb. See an example in the video below.

Do you have any suggestions when the window is stuck and will not pop out? We tried like the video to remove one side first, but it does not budge.

You may have a pivot show with an enclosed cam. See an example below. These shoes are trickier to deal with because there is no opening for the pivot bar to slide out of. You'll follow the same process to remove the sash but you'll need to angle the sash and use some elbow grease to pop one side out at a time. Unforutnately, there is no easy trick to this and even professionals have trouble with them at times but I can assure you that it will come out.
