Coil balance

Hi Can you please tell me the parts needed to repair my slide and tilt sash windows I live in the UK and have struggled to find any parts here, the broken coils have the number 8 stamped on them, also do you have a guide on how to replace this type of coil.

This setup looks a bit weird, but we may still be able to help. Before we recommend anything, can you remove the sash from the window and show me a clear picture of the pivot shoe? Seeing the pivot shoe removed from the window beforehand would be even more helpful. Finally, I'd like to know the thickness of both the pivot shoe and the spring. Thank you!

Hi thanks for the reply I have taken some images of the pivot shoe but unable to remove it from the frame , I removed the coils from the other side of the window and these are stamped with either a 9 or 6 which is different to the damaged coils that have 8 stamped on them.

This is certainly stumping us. As for the coils, you can use our 1/2" wide coil springs Series 150, but even our manufacturer doesn't recognize your pivot shoe or spring covers. For the #8 stamped coil, use S150-8 and for the #6 stamp, use S150-6. Let us know if you have any further questions.
