Compression allowance for corner springs

A contractor from PA says:
Has anyone calculated the compression of a corner spring. I mean, how much will the corner spring compress before it goes to solid. I guess it might be more accurate to ask, how much should I allow for the spring when fabricating a new screen frame. For example; My measurement from extreme inside to inside track is 30 inches. What should the actual frame measure to allow for the corner spring. Hope that makes sense.

Hello,

These springs don't require much clearance in our experience. I would say no more than 1/8" play depending on the thickness of your screen frame. Also, take a look at the 70-030 spring. It's a little wider at 3/16", whereas the 70-193 is only 1/8" wide. Take a look at both and see which would work best for your application. Thanks for posting.
