Constant force window balance

Hi i would like to order 2 constant force window balance for the left and right side of the plastic window
The weight of the window is 12.1 kg
I need shoes and coils springs as well I suppose. Do i need to change anything else? The window has 2 brackets on each side which makes it difficult to take apart 2 of the self tapping screws don't screw in it keeps turning would it be possible to put a bigger screw ? Maybe 5 x 25 mm ? Would you have any?
Also could you send me a video how to put the coils springs together?
We had the window repaired a few years ago but I don't know if they used the right weights or badly fitted!
They drilled new holes to fix the balances on each side of the window
I don't know if it's the cause of the breakage?
The window in my daughter bedroom hasn't been working for years!
I can read some numbers on the coils but they have worn out
The weight of the window is 12.1 kg
I would like to order all the items I need for that repair and hopefully it will work again! And some spare repair screws if possible?
I really would appreciate if you could help me
Very kind regards
Thierry

Hello,

The good news is that we recognize most of your parts. The pivot shoe would be 15-228 but ours comes with a diecast center cam as opposed to your nylon cam but the pivot bar in your image looks like it will fit. The coil springs S160-7 have a 7.5 stamp like yours and the 15-150D nylon cover looks like a match to yours. Regarding the screw, we use a thicker screw like the 33-020 (#8-22.225mm). The sash stop device looks like the 39-398 made of steel or 39-398SS, which is made of stainless steel. We've related a few videos on this page to help you through the replacement process. Thanks for posting.

Hi sorry to bother you again!
The screws you show me is not the same than my existing ones which is countersink
Does it matter? Also what is the diameter and length in millimetres?
Thanks
Thierry

Hello,

We do carry counter sink stainless screws that are #8 X 25.4 mm, plain 33-016 or white 33-016P.

I do not recognize the bar in the photo. Does it engage to the pivot shoe?

Our coil springs are rated in pounds. It appears that your spring has a 7.5 marked on the metal which would be the S160-7 coil spring. Are both coil springs in the double assembly marked with 7.5? Please inform!

Hi Casey I can't really tell you because the coils were in bits and the identity marks were worn off
The window is 12.1 kg
The bar on the pictures with the screws are fixed on the bottom of the window
1 on each side they go onto the shoes
Do I need 4 coils ? 2 on each side
4 coils of S160-7 ?
Thanks

Hi Casey sorry to bother you again!
Could you please tell me how to assemble the coils together on the double coil support?
Like I said everything was in bits all broken when I removed them
Also could you write me a list of exactly what I need to repair the window
I would like to replace the lot(new pivot shoes +coil support +coils +screws)
The window weighs 12.1 kilograms in total
Kind regards
Thank you

Your sash weight converts to about 26 pounds, which I would recommend using one S160-7 and S160-5 on each side to support. See the video below to help you through the replacement process.

Unfortunately, we do not carry an exact match for your pivot bar but you should be able to reuse them as long as they are still in good condition. See the rest of the parts related on this page to replace your coil balance assemblies.
