Crank stripped- need new operator?

Home Owner from Milwaukee
Hi,
Our awning window crank doesn't open/close the window. Do I need a whole new operator?
The current operator is "Truth". The size is 21 1/2". The crank handle has a #45054 on it.

I haven't taken it apart yet, I need to remove the window ledge to get at it so before I do, I want to be sure I can do this myself. (we aren't terribly handy)

I was looking at part # 39-083. What's your advice?
Thank you,
Mary Ellen

Hey, Mary. I'm afraid you will need an entirely new operator, yes. 39-083 may be a match, but we would need to see a picture of yours to confirm.

Here are some additional photos. I wasn't able to get the molding off yet, Hoping you can identify using these photos.

thank you.

Perfect, thanks! The 39-083 is close, for sure. Since the elbow-to-elbow measurement is 21-1/2", I think you're good to go.

As for removing the molding, watch the video below. The operator featured is different but the method of removing the molding is the same.

Thanks, I'll order the 39-083. Is the handle included or do I need to order other parts?

Thanks,
Mary Ellen

The handle is sold separately, but I see no reason why you can't use your old one. Just loosen that little screw, which is holding it to the corkscrew bore. That should let you pull it off. If you did need a new handle, though, consider our 39-114L.
