Difficulty Installing window with new channel balances

Question

I have a question about difficulty installing a 50"x 29" window after installing new channel balances purchased in the order described above. I have enclosed a picture showing the inside of the window frame as it seems to have several ridges which is not the case in the various installation videos I have seen. The picture shows the old channel balance, since even with the old balance I have not been able to insert the window. Thanks for your help

I've honestly never seen a ridged jamb liner like you show here. That's pretty peculiar. I don't know why they would design it that way unless they really wanted you using only one kind of balance.

Which begs the question, why can't you use the originals? Do you happen to know if they came with the window or if they were, themselves, repair parts that someone put in at some point in the past? Do you have another identical window in the house that you can look over to get an idea of how it works?
