Do I need charging tools with my new balances?

Question

window will not stay up. does taking out the spiril balance release the tenison. could the tenison have been lost causing the window not to stay up?

If I replace the spiril balance 3/8" series 900 23" on both sides of my window do I need the charging tool to recharge the balances? Or do the new balances come charged so I can just replace the old ones that are not working?

Thanks for posting on our discussion boards. Yes, it sounds like the tension of your balances has been lost. I think it'd be wise to try charging them before you buy completely new balances. Please see our 75-006 charging tool for tilt windows.

If you do want to get new balances, you will have to charge your new balances as you install them; our balances do not come pre-charged.
