Do I need double stick tape to install 55-174?

It looks like i have #55-174 glazing.some pieces have double stick tape between the window and the glazing and some don't.is this something i need to replace along with the glazing beads ?

The glazing tape should be used between the glass and window frame. The 55-174 glazing, meanwhile should slip in the sash frame and press on the glass. You shouldn't need the tape to replace the glazing itself.
