Handle will not return to neutral as it did for 16 years so door does not latch unless someone closes it and raises the handle.

Hello,
Does this happen to be a mortise lock used in a french door? If so, unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a replacement. Your best option would be to contact the door manufacturer directly. I'm sorry that we won't be able to assist with this repair but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions. Thanks for posting.
