Door Seal Kit 58-008

A home owner from Colorado says:
I purchase such a seal kit from a different online vendor.
The problem with the new, magnetic seal strip is that the magnetic strip is not strong enough to properly seal the door from top to bottom.
The original seal has a magnetic strip with a thickness of 2.7 mm; The new seal strip I purchased is only 2.4 mm thick.

The cross section for your seal kit shows a thickness of 1/8 of an Inch? Is that dimension including the vinyl clad or just the magnetic strip?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
This dimension includes the vinyl lining, yes. If you find that magnetic seal does not work as well, you could possibly consider something like our 58-056. To be honest, many professionals are of the belief that magnetic seal isn't as good as regular foam seal for the very reason you describe: the magnets themselves weaken after so many years. It's up to you though.
