The latch assembly mechanism is 1.5 x 5.75. The latch plate has the same dimensions as 40-194; 7.75 long, 13/16 wide, and 7" between mounting hole centers.

I sent a note earlier saying I believe this part is the same as 40-194 except it has a brass housing. The door is about 15 years old. There are not manufactures markings on the door or handle anywhere that I can find.

The latch shown in your photo does appear to have a brass finish on the "inside" portion, however that part is not shown when it is installed into your door so the color doesn't matter that much. Take another look at the 40-194 and just make sure all the dimensions line up to yours.
