Door latch for Sears metal out-swing storm door, antique brass or bronze(unsure of color name)

A home owner from Royal Oak, MI says:

A few years ago,I had purchased from you a Swisco replacement latch assy. shown in attached photos, which was an exact replacement for my original Sears front storm door latch. Now my identical rear storm door needs a new latch. Sears no longer stocks or services such things. Can you advise me as to availability and pricing for such a latch assy.? (While searching Google Images I also found the same assy. under the name: "Wartian Antique Brass KL-2000-12 Lever (Sears 1 5/8" Door)

Part Number KL-2000-12-AB1650-B"; obviously different vendor & part #, but visually identical.) Any information you can provide will be of great assistance. Thanks.

Hi George,

As you may have guessed, your handle is no longer available due to Sears removing themselves from the storm door business. That being said, customers in a similar situation have been able to use our 40-130 or 40-131 handle sets as replacements. Keep in mind that you'll probably have to drill new holes to accommodate the lock below the internal latch. Thank you!

A home owner from Columbus, Ohio says:
Hi,
I am searching for a replacement for a part I don't know what it is called. It is what the bolt goes into when the Sears storm door is locked. I am attaching photos. Can you tell me the name of the part, and where I can find one?

Thank you,

This appears to be the same Sears brand storm door latch shown above. As we mentioned in the thread above, your exact set isn't made anymore but the 40-130 can be used as an alternative. You might just want to expect having to do some minor handiwork to get it operational, such as drilling new holes or potentially shimming out the existing keeper to meet the new style latch.
