Pivot bar and pivot shoe replacement

A home owner from Gahanna, Ohio says:
Hi there! We are trying to replace the inner workings of a window. There are two broken parts that attach to the bottom of our channel balances, however we think there is a third part missing. THe channel balance has numbers on it they are "34B," "BSI,and a small "CK." Please see pictures of the broken parts above, as well as a picture of a window with all of the correct pieces assembled.

Thank you for your help.

Hey guys, thank you for posting. I am sure we can locate the replacements you need. To start, we will need to see both the pivot bar and pivot shoe completely out of the window. Unfortunately, we can't make a positive ID with the damaged pivot bar or the pivot shoe while it is still installed. Once you remove both pieces, we ask that you upload new photos and detailed measurements of both pieces. I am going to place a couple of videos below showing some helpful ways on how to remove the parts out of the window.

You also mentioned a balance. If you would like our assistance in replacing it, please remove it from the window and forward photos for us to see.

Hi there!

Thank you for getting back to us. Please see attached pivot bar and shoe. We think that the balance bar is actually ok, but we need two pivot bars and shoes. Dimensions for the pivot bar is 1/4 of an inch by 3/16ths. The holes are 1 inch and 1 3/4 inches from the plate. On the pivot bar the part that interfaces with the shoe is a 1/4 inch long. It also has a number on it- 6236. The dimensions for the shoe: 1 inch wide, 1/2 inch deep, and 1 3/4 inches long. We included a non-broken pivot bar in the photo for you to reference.

Thank you,

Caroline & Zak

Thank you for getting back to us with more photos and information. Unfortunately, this pivot bar isn't made anymore but 26-021 can replace it. As for the pivot shoe it's either 15-167 or 15-179. The difference between the two is thickness. Very slight difference but important when determining the correct replacement. You'll have to measure very carefully but otherwise it'll definitely be one of these two.
