Dear Sirs,
I just installed the S385-27 and S385-22 that I received.
Great results and a very well made product - Thank you.
I will be going through most of the windows in my house to improve the ease operation (just as I did with this "test" order).
I have a question:
In one assembly (where there are two single-hung units sharing one frame with a center post) I noticed that there is quite a bit more horizontal "play" so when a window is raised or lowered, it appears to shift from side to side and in some instances, one of the balances may snap out of its latching point at the top.
The "inside" dimension of the alum. frame is 34 3/4" while the total width of each of my windows (with the channel balances attached) is 33 3/4"
so,
I am a little concerned that the side-to-side play will still be there?
Any advise to minimize this play?
Thank you very much.
P.S.
I am planning to order 4 of your 385 series channel balances which come with
19-005 tops and 15-004 shoes.
Help with received balances

You could consider something like our 67-002 screw on face guide. If you drill a hole at the edge of the sash with the lip going behind the window track, the rectangular part will bump against the window track to prevent the sash falling into the track. Would that work for you?
