Hinge and operator for casement window

A home owner from Lahaina, HI says:
I have four casement windows, and I need to replace all of the hinges and operators. I think they are about 20 years old.

There are no numbers on the hinge.

On the operator, the long arm says "Truth Entryguard 40755" on it, the short arm says "31540", and the link connected to it says "20812". The operator itself has "45179".

Your hinge looks like our 36-021HD, and the operator looks like our 39-031. If you also want to replace that stud bracket, see our 39-508. Please review this hardware and see what you think!

The pair of 36-021HD hinges I ordered on Monday just arrived. (Thanks for the fast shipping!)

The hinges are very stiff; it takes a big effort to make them move. Is there a trick to making them move freely?

I checked the set screws, and they are nice and loose.

Try some oil on the joints and work the hinges, that should loosen them.
