How does 40-014 install?

For part # 40-014, how does one install this product. It seems very difficult, is there any instructions for the installation of the top and the bottom. It doesn't seem to fit the space where the old one came out of

Hey there, thanks for reaching out! The first step is to install the bracket plate in the door, as shown in the image below.

Step 1: install the 40-014 bracket

When moving to the next step, with the bracket plate installed in the door, install the bolt into the bottom hole in the bracket. With the lower part of the bolt in the bracket you will then push the top of the bolt into the top hole. It will give you some resistance, but you just have to firmly push it in. Again, see the image below.

Step 2: install the 40-014 bolt.

Please be aware, once the bolt is installed, it is not made to be removed. You'd have to break it to get it out. This is why you'll feel a lot of resistance.
