How is the sliding door track cover held in place?

What holds the new cover in place (80-103)? It appears to just snap over the old track ridge. If that's worn much should be left.

There are various ways to install track covers. You can crimp the track or follow some installers example and glue the track down with epoxy. I find that the best way to install the track cover is to cut the track to size and drill two 7/64" holes on each end of the track and install #6x3/8" long screws. Install the screws as close to the ends of the track as possible so not to interfere with the sliding operation of the door rollers. The weight of the door will hold down the center portion of the track. Take note while you have the door off the track to check to see if the rollers have to be replaced. Worn out rollers are the number one cause of damaged sliding door tracks.
