How long before replacing the pile weatherstripping

A home owner from Montreal Quebec Canada says:
Hi. I am a member of a big housing coop project than had new windows installed about 36 years ago. As some of our members discovered recently, the pile weatherstripping is gone or almost gone. The question is what is life span of it and what is the best price we could get for hundreds of double windows. Thank you and best regards.
