I need a 10 lb coil balance

A handy person from wichita kansas says:
I had the glass replaced in my vinyl single hung windows and the new glass is heavier than the old glass. Now my windows will not stay open so I need to replace my existing coil balances with a heavier duty balance. The existing coil balance is stamped with "740" and is a style #190. I used you calulation system to determine that I need a 10 pound balance. Do I want the "832" balance?

Good Afternoon,

The S190-832 Coil Balance Spring would be the next step up. However, please give us the weight of your window sash and approximate glass size before we continue.

my sash size is 25 x 35 and we have double strength glass. I calculated the weight at 19.76 pounds using your formula.

there are currently 2 balances per window, one each side, both marked with the "740" marking

I think the move up to S190-832 should work for your window.
