Is it necessary to add extra support in badly worn areas?

The track on my daughter's slider is worn but generally in good shape except for one area. About 3" from the lock side the track is very badly worn with the rail and some of the support web worn away for about 4". Will the large track cover (80-100) give adequate support over this area or do I have to add a piece to the existing track to provide some support. I was going to cut a piece of 1/16" aluminium sheet and J-B Weld it to the web to provide support for the track cover so it wouldn't sag at this area.

The track is made of a heavy stainless steel that should be sufficient, but adding extra support would not hurt.
