Locking the 82-073 with key

A handy person from Moline,Il says:
Bought this lock set. It works perfectly from the inside and also always unlocks from the outside. The problem is locking it with the key from the outside. If the handle is firmly attached to the door you cannot turn the key. Loosen up the screws a bit and the key will work but after a few uses the screws loosen up a bit and the key no longer will move the latch.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Based on the picture do you think I ordered the correct width ?

It sounds like you might need to cut down the key cylinder tail a little. Take a look at the videos below, which may offer some insight.
A professional from CA says:
Take the handle off. place the handle so half is over the edge of the door. Look at how the lever and the tail line up with centerline of the mortise lock. If they are close to touching that is probably the issue. Cut down whichever is longer so they both come close to the center, but not close enough to touch when tightened. Vinyl doors often compress more than you would think.
