Mastic windows spiral balance

I have "Mastic" brand windows. I've measured the spiral balance to be 19 1/4 inches and 7/16 inch diameter. The balance I currently have in the window is covered in a plastic casing...I'm hoping that doesn't make a difference. It looks to me like I need the 900 series, blue tip. Does that sound correct? Thanks for posting, Gail. I agree, it sounds like you might be looking at our S900-19. Our balances can indeed replace those with a plastic casing.
I'm not sure about the tip, though. I'd have to know what your sash weight is to confirm. The Blue Tip can carry a window sash weight range of 9 through 21 pounds, while the Red Tip can carry 6 through 16 pounds. Which weight range would be better suited for your sash?
Please keep in mind that the weight range information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
