Narrow depth handle for outside door

A home owner from Los Angeles says:
The door to my bedroom from the outside has a wrought iron security door with a deadbolt, leaving only a 1" gap between it and the 1.25" thick solid wood interior door.

I pass through this interior door a lot every day. It needs to be easily opened, so I installed a friction ball type catch with narrow wooden handles. Unfortunately, it does not provide enough hold especially when it gets windy.

I need a latch with a very narrow depth handle

I recommend that you check with a hardware store or locksmith in your area. You might need to have the security door reinstalled by building out the exterior trim, so as to give you more space between the doors.
