Need all the parts to make this forty year old aluminum tilt window stay up. No idea what brand it is.

Thanks for posting. It appears you need new spiral balances, as well as new pivot shoes. For the spiral balance, can you confirm the length of the outer tube, as well as its diameter? The diameter should be either 3/8" or 5/8". For the pivot shoe, is there an undamaged version you can remove from the window and show us? The width and thickness of the pivot shoe is also important to know. From there, we'll do our best to match what you need.

For information on how to remove and replace both the spiral balances and pivot shoes from your windows, see the videos below.

A home owner from Lebanon, ohio says:
Did I observe correctly, that the spiral balance can be locked into place by turning the center of the pivot shoe?

That's exactly right. In fact, that's why they call these parts pivot lock shoes. When you turn the cam, a pad of sorts extends out on either side of the pivot shoe, wedging it in place. That allows you to remove the sash without having to worry about the balance shooting up in the track.
