Need vinyl glaze for a broken window in an all aluminum frame.

A handy person from ohio says:
I can't take any of the part out for a picture. The existing vinyl glaze (pictured) is old and cracking. Taking it out will just cause more problems.

The old glaze on this window was hardened putty that had been smashed down into the groove and pushed onto the window, indicating that the window has been replaced before, since very other window (12 of them) have vinyl glaze.

The groove when the glaze would go in starts exactly at the bottom of the glass. There is no space for the glaze to bend down to go in. It needs to push straight down and in. (At least that is my impression.)

Thanks for posting. Unfortunately, it's going to be very difficult to say what you need without getting some sample of the glazing bead for us to see. The glazing's 'end profile' is key to identifying the right replacement. I know it's difficult when it's so brittle, but without seeing that cross-section view there are frankly just too many possibilities to reliably narrow down what you need. See the video below on glazing removal and replacement. In the time being, you can see our selection of glazing beads here.
