OK to turn latch over?

A quick learner from Makawao, Maui, HI says:

I have a Marvin Screen Door and should probably use a Prime-Line A142, however your 83-040 has 2 m,missing mounting holes on the inside handle next to the 2 tabs, but yours does. My mounting hole spacing is 2 5/8" but the latch tab on mine points outside,

but your 83-040 tab aims inside the house. Can I turn the latch over as the slot in the screen door that the latch comes out of is on the side of the door towards the inside of the house?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you're describing. Could you reword that for me? Even better, would it be possible to see some photos of your old handle?
