Older window balances needed

A quick learner from Michigan says:
The channel balance stamp for my windows is 2430. How can I get a balance like that or are there current replacement parts that would match?

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Thanks for writing in. This stamp code actually refers to the calibration of the spring inside the balance. The identity of the balance itself is actually determined by the style of nylon fittings on either end of the metal channel. If you could remove the balance from the window and show us a good picture of each nylon fitting, we should be able to identify what you need. The length of the metal channel, not including those end attachments, is also good to confirm. From there, we'll try and make a recommendation for you. Many thanks.

A quick learner from Berrien Springs, Michigan says:
Thank you for your response. Attached are a couple of photos that will hopefully help identify the part needed. The actual metal channel s 25 inches long,

Thank you for your interest in SWISCO hardware.

The difference between the series 351 and series 390 balances lies in the shoe.

The series 351 channel balance has the 15-002 shoe while the series 390 channel balance has the 15-001 shoe.

The 15-001 shoe is 1/8" larger from front to back.

I hope you find this helpful. Please let us know if you have other questions.

A quick learner from Berrien Springs, Michigan says:
The shoe on my piece is 1.25 inches. What would be the correct channel balance to purchase?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Your shoe measurement should either be 1 inch (Series 351) or 1-1/8" (Series 390).

Please take another look at your measurement to determine which series balance you need.

If you are still not getting one of these two measurements, please send us additional pictures with a close up of the shoe.

I was measuring the wrong end. My piece is 1 inch.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

If your bottom shoe measures 1 inch, you will go with our S351-25 channel balances with the 2430 stamp option.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

A quick learner from Michigan says:
Now I need some replacement parts that the channel balances hook into along the side of the window frame.

Would you please advise me what the right part is that goes with the channel balances I ordered?

Thank you.

Hey there! That looks like a top sash guide. Yours in particular could be either our 18-008 or 18-008H. Look them over and see what you think.
