Patio door replacement rollers, Nylon vs Steel

A handy person from Florida says:
What is the benefit of nylon rollers vs. steel? My current doors are very heavy 8' doors. Current rollers are steel and need to be replaced. Are nylone smoother? As strong?

Thanks for posting. Steel wheels are certainly stronger than their nylon equivalent, but they hold up less well in salt-air environments. I see you live in Florida. To be honest, nylon may be the better choice for you. Is rust often a problem where you live?

Thanks for the reply. No rust is not a problem. I think with the weight of these doors, steel will be the best option. Thanks.
