Pella cover

A quick learner from Los Angeles, CA says:
How can I remove the Pella penny emblem on a metal latch handle with a slotted screwdriver without damaging the cap?

Hello,

Assuming that you're referring to the 83-122 and 83-123 Pella handles, you'll have to pop off the round "Pella" logo with a flat head screwdriver, or similar tool. Basically, anything that can get in there. That will reveal the screw, which is the only thing holding the handle in place. Once you remove that you should be able to pull it out.

A home owner from NY says:
Just got a similar broken latch out.
First the pella logo. It is GLUED on. Used a tiny screwdriver and pried it off with only a little marring of surrounding wood but pretty difficult.
Second, my door has a spring inside the mechanism and getting latch out was difficult. Had to put tiny screwdriver along latch and push the spring steel up, then push the latch up level, not down, and slide it out through the outside opening NOT the more intuitive inside opening. These details may help others and now I can order my new latch.
