Pennco Handle Replacement

A quick learner from Missouri says:
Will the 82-086 work with my Pennco sliding door (17 years old). Looking to replace so I can have a keyed lock. The screw holes are 3 15/16 on center. I was concerned as when I engage the current lock the mores lock latch moves downward. Thank you!

This mortise lock looks like either the 82-211 or 82-214, depending on its thickness. Now, this mortise lock type is compatible with handle sets that have 3-15/16" hole spacing, which the 82-086 does indeed have; the problem is that the 82-086 has its thumb lever and key lock offset towards the bottom of the handle set, whereas I believe your handle set has these components perfectly centered. Therefore the 82-086 wouldn't align properly with the door.

I suggest you instead consider our 82-030 Handle Set, which has a thumb lever that can be positioned to be offset like yours. You can adapt the 82-310 Key Lock to this handle set. This blog article explains how.
