Pivot bar

A quick learner from 28584 says:
Good afternoon. So I recently ordered some pivot bars from you guys. #26-366 and everything is exactly the same as my old one except the tongue part that goes into the shoe is longer by a 1\4. I didn't realize this till I took apart a window that didnt have the bar broke and seen that it was a little longer. Can you help me in finding the right length one and also will need to return the original 40 I ordered for the right ones. My order number is 1890759. Thanks

Hello!

I'm afraid we don't have another version of the 26-366. To our knowledge, your original just isn't made anymore. Ours may still work but you would have to re-drill the installation holes. I apologize we can't offer something better.

A home owner from Maryland says:
I seem to have the same issue as this person. My sash pivot bars appear to be about 1/4 inch longer. All other dimensions are the same but the tongue part is 1/4 in longer than the 26-366 that you have. Am I likely to be successful if I get the newer ones that are 1/4 in shorter than the originals?

thanks,
Alan

Thanks for reaching out to us, Alan. Our 26-366 pivot bar can replace the one with the longer tip in these photos but it will require drilling new holes so that you can mount it a little more forward, to make up for the difference.

A home owner from Maryland says:
I ordered the slightly shorter one and it ended up working fine without having to drill new holes. I think I ended up only using one screw instead of two, but it met my needs so I recommend trying the shorter one. I had a contractor try to find the longer ones about 10 years ago to no avail, so not many choices here other than improvising!
