Plastic wheel on arm broke.

A quick learner from Bangor, Pennsylvania says:
Hello,

I have this casement and I don't know if you can tell from the photos but the plastic wheel that keeps the arm in the track under the window broke. I think I need to replace the casement itself since I'm sure there is no way to replace the plastic wheel. I would replace the opposite casement too so they match. The issue is with the arm on the right side. The other challenge is getting to the casement on the other side. It's under the bottom of the wooden window frame. I hope you can see from the photos. I'm wondering if there's a way to just replace the nylon roller

I also have a mix of different retainer pins for the grilled. I included pictures and have some grommets still in the grilles. We pulled these and even nails with white finish out of some of the grommets.
Thanks

Hey, Kevin. I don't see a plastic wheel in any of your photos, so I'm not sure what it is you're referring to. Could you be talking about the white plastic slider on the hinge?

If so, it's totally possible to replace the hinge. Your windows are very old so this exact style isn't made anymore, but you may be able to use our 36-048 as a substitute as long as you replace the top and bottom at the same time. Give it a look and let me know what you think.

If I'm mistaken, please clarify exactly what piece you need. Seeing a photo of it separately would be a huge help, but otherwise having it pointed out would allow us to get on the same page.

As for those screen pins, see our 70-195. That looks like it matches what you have now. I am sorry to say that we do not sell screen pin grommets, though.

Thank you. Here is a photo of the piece on the other arm.

Oh, I see. That's the bearing on the operator. That can't be replaced by itself, unfortunately. If yours has broken then you'd need an all new operator entirely.

The problem with that is that your operator is a very old style, like I mentioned before, and they haven't made it in years and years. You may be able to use a more modern part like our 39-027E and 39-028E as substitutes but I cannot guarantee that they will work. If they can, it would require some adaptation of the sill and sill trim due to the different shape of the base.

That's something to keep in mind in case you wanted to give these a shot. If you are not handy yourself, you should get the help of someone who is. It won't be an easy job.
